Update end of August!!

Hello everyone!
How u all? Well we r all just dandy here!!! Im sorry my update on our blog has been so bad. So heres a very long over due update!

The high lights:
Well our cousins came to vist from Auckland, its was a great weekend filled with lots of laughs and fun!! They camped in our tiny lounge…see pics. We went to the turbines, fed the ducks, ate lots, dyed hair (Tanya is a hairdresser) and watched rugby!!

So our shop runs a competition every 6 months. The shop that makes the most sales 3 of the 6 months wins. (There r 10 stores) Our prize is a trip to Aus for myself and my assistant manager for 4 days. We got a little trophy. J Its not long but will be so much fun! So we went out to celebrate…see pics

We had a games night with our next door neighbours from either side of us. They have become great friends of ours! Jill, Marchi and Jen. They r all from the UK. See pics…

Then I got to go to Wellington to watch the Turbos play against the Lions. It was great to go but he weather was very rainy and windy. I got a lift up and went with Alice and Caroline. We walked around town, grabbed some lunch and then went to watch the game. It was a good game but was very special cos it was Tana Umaga’s last game. He had a speech after and was awesome to see. See pics…

Well this is not so much of a high light but then I went to hospital to have my shoulder op. The hospital was lovely and all the staff great. I was really nervous as I hate pain as Im sure most of u know… I was there for 3 days. Now 3 weeks later Im going to physio 4 times a week and on my way to recovery! Its really hard work, I cant believe how much strength u loose in yr arm so quickly. The physio will continue for the next few weeks. Im very thankful I have both arms!!!

Now Im just home recovering. Bertus is doing very well. He’s training hard, rugby is great! Its slowly warming up here and by that I mean we on 12 degrees. Yay!

Well that’s it for now. Take care and love u all lots!

update.....end of may 07

NEWS FROM PALMY!
How you all? Well we’re doing great, considering that it’s getting colder and colder here! (Windy and rainy) So our news…Bertus rugby is going well. He’s training hard and getting fit! He starts warm up games for the season in bout 2 weeks and then starts the Turbos games in about 7 weeks or so.
I’m still doing my Latin American dance classes, I have moved onto the next level…very exciting!!! I have also got involved in walking. About 2 weeks ago I did a 22 km walk with the girls at work and we went as “TEAM ROXY”. It was so much fun and hard work of course. I never trained so was quit stiff after but now I’m training for my next one in August. I can’t run at the moment because my shoulder is giving me trouble, going to see the specialist in about 2 weeks. So hopefully we can sort it out. In the mean time I’m joining the Manawatu Striders Club and getting walking. I have also bought myself a little scooter, her name is Sally and she is red and black! I whiz around palmy on her! Sometimes it is a little cold but I bundle up well. I forgot to put the pic of the rainbow up so I will do so today! In just under 6 days Bertus’ cousins, Tanya and Lize from Auckland are coming to visit. We are so excited but it will be funny to see how we all fit in our tiny flat. I don’t have too much other news to tell. We are enjoying it here and settling in well; of course we miss you all very much and think of you always!

Well take care and will speak again soooon! Love The Mulders

Latest news

Hello everyone! How you all doing? Im sorry I have taken so long to update our blog. Deds keeps asking after new pics and news…so here goes. I don’t have too much new news really, a few things…I started a new job! Im a manager of a retail store in the city centre. I love the job but it can be so tiring, lots of standing involved. But everyone is so helpful and just exellento!!! I have also started latin American and ballroom dancing classes on Monday and Thursday nights. I love it and so happy to be dancing again. Would love to one day enter competions! We will have to see… J My arm/shoulder is not better still. Im going to see a shoulder specialist in June. They might have to do a little op. But I don’t know. Im contining practicing my cooking, it is improving and my hubby is enjoying my food…mmm!

Bertus is doing great. Happy and full of life! The rugby is also going well. The Turbos season starts in July so he is working hard towards that. The winter is creeping in and its getting cold…bbrrr! Lots of scarves, gloves and big warm coats.

The pics I have put up are a bit random. There are some of my birthday, Bertus baked me a chocolate cake…mmm, it was yummy. My friend Simone is having a baby on Tuesday 15 May. These are pics of her baby shower. Also our car! He reminds me of a pimp my ride car, he is a legend though and we love him! J Some rugby pics. Some pics of our flat when we moved in, its changed a bit, more homely now and a rainbow from my front door.

EASTER WEEKEND!!!

Helllloooo everybody!!

How is everyone after the nice long easter weekend? Well rested out and ready for a new week i presume?! I must say, we were blessed with very sunny and warm days here in Palmy over the w-end and we did a lot of outdoor activities! We went for a picnic on friday, with joggie and simone, to the Botanical gardens here in Palmy. There were some very yummy snacks and we made sure that we didnt forget the ducks! :) We fed them 3 loaves of bread and its amazing how aggressive they become as soon as they see the bread! Saturday i had to play a club game which we won comfortably 39-20. the last 2 weekends have been pretty much good weather and i'm very thankful for that, but now chantelle is keen for it to rain so she can wear her new pink gumboots on the wet field. ai ai! :)

On Sunday we took a drive up to the wind farms and got up close and personal with some of the turbines, its unbelievable how big they are, but then again, chantelle's not one of the tallest persons around hey! :) overall, a very fun easter w-end!
Some latest news on jobs/studying:
Dunno who we've told what, but we received some good and bad news the last week: Firstly, there is lots of teaching jobs here for chantelle, but in NZ they now starting a new thing that they want all pre-school teachers to have studied a certain 'early childhood education' course before you're allowed to teach the youngsters and by 2010 everyone teaching pre-school, must have that behind their name. the good news is that, as soon as chantelle is registered with the teaching council of NZ, we can apply for permanent residency, because her being a teacher gives us enough points to apply for it...so YAY for that! Other good news is that i have my appointment with the Accounting firm in palmy next week, so everybody hold thumbs and pray that i will be able to start working there and finish my studies while working!
no other news really, we're dying to hear from everyone and all the news back home. pls drop us an email! have a good week and i'll get my wife to write the next post! :)

My first post!!!!

Sooo... Hello everyone! Finally I'm sitting down doing my thing I do best, talking! Firstly I would like to thank everyone who made our time in South Africa these last 3 months wonderful, you are all every special people to us and we love you lots!!!! Our wedding was just so so unbelievably amazing and will always be in our hearts! Its hard to thank you all enough but really thank you to all of you for being there!!!!

Well since I have arrived it has been interesting... My arm/shoulder thing was a challenge, trying to unpack with 1 arm is well, you can imagine. Its getting better which is of course great. We are now packed out, yay! Cooking... well I'm sure you all know I'm not the worlds greatest cook, my speciality is toasted cheese and ham! :) But I'm proud to say I have cooked up a storm and made steak pie, casserole, creamy smoked salmon pasta and so on.

We have settle in nicely into our little flat, its not a mansion but its "our first home" and its all ours, which I love! In the future we will save for our big house. In the mean time I love being a wife and I know Bertus loves being a husband!

When we first landed, we stayed in Auckland, its lovely there. Clean, safe and beautiful. We then drove down to Palmerston North, its not too small but its not Durban. I still cant believe how safe it is here, children (young as in 8 years old) walking home from school. There is no gates, walls, thick glass etc at the houses or banks. I'm still getting used to it. Everyone is so so friendly and helpful. I have gone to 2 of Bertus' games, the girls are welcoming. I have been to some job interviews and joined recruitment agencies. So far so good. I miss you all though!

I suppose that is it then! Have a very happy Easter! Enjoy this time with your family! Godbless! Stay in contact. And I will write again soon. Love you all! Mwah! Me
Photo's: First one is of us in the Auckland harbor on St. Patrick's Day, second is of us with Tom and Lize (family thats in Auckland), third is of the Manawatu river, fourth is our bags piling up in our lounge, fifth is our welcome note when we got here and last one is of chantelle's first home made pie...yummy!

so i was wrong.....

so maybe i was wrong.....again. it is not chantelle writing the 2nd post with all the news and stuff, but just me again posting some pics. for those of you that havent seen or tried out the "Bebo Website" link on the left of this post, well you missing out....we've discovered another site where you can do all crazy stuff and we did it, we made another site about ourselves.....yes i know that it may sound arrogant, i mean, who has 2 websites bout their own lifes except chuck norris????? but we have our reasons for having 2 websites. so the site's address is: http://bertus-mulder.bebo.com (for those who dont see the link on the left of this post.) there is some more photos we uploaded about our wedding and honeymoon for the simple reason that it has a "picture gallery" which allows you to upload like millions of photo's. there is also space for friends to join and link up and write comments and quite a few of my rugby friends here in palmy is connected via the bebo website, so i cant take any responsibility for any rude language used there! now i'll try get chantelle to write a post with some meaningful news in it and post it, cause there has been quite some development in our lives the last 2 weeks, more development than SA Rugby had the last 10 years i promise ya!
jurgens, about yr comment, all good mate.....but remember i have photos, photos you dont want to see on here....... :)
