EASTER WEEKEND!!!

Helllloooo everybody!!

How is everyone after the nice long easter weekend? Well rested out and ready for a new week i presume?! I must say, we were blessed with very sunny and warm days here in Palmy over the w-end and we did a lot of outdoor activities! We went for a picnic on friday, with joggie and simone, to the Botanical gardens here in Palmy. There were some very yummy snacks and we made sure that we didnt forget the ducks! :) We fed them 3 loaves of bread and its amazing how aggressive they become as soon as they see the bread! Saturday i had to play a club game which we won comfortably 39-20. the last 2 weekends have been pretty much good weather and i'm very thankful for that, but now chantelle is keen for it to rain so she can wear her new pink gumboots on the wet field. ai ai! :)

On Sunday we took a drive up to the wind farms and got up close and personal with some of the turbines, its unbelievable how big they are, but then again, chantelle's not one of the tallest persons around hey! :) overall, a very fun easter w-end!
Some latest news on jobs/studying:
Dunno who we've told what, but we received some good and bad news the last week: Firstly, there is lots of teaching jobs here for chantelle, but in NZ they now starting a new thing that they want all pre-school teachers to have studied a certain 'early childhood education' course before you're allowed to teach the youngsters and by 2010 everyone teaching pre-school, must have that behind their name. the good news is that, as soon as chantelle is registered with the teaching council of NZ, we can apply for permanent residency, because her being a teacher gives us enough points to apply for it...so YAY for that! Other good news is that i have my appointment with the Accounting firm in palmy next week, so everybody hold thumbs and pray that i will be able to start working there and finish my studies while working!
no other news really, we're dying to hear from everyone and all the news back home. pls drop us an email! have a good week and i'll get my wife to write the next post! :)

My first post!!!!

Sooo... Hello everyone! Finally I'm sitting down doing my thing I do best, talking! Firstly I would like to thank everyone who made our time in South Africa these last 3 months wonderful, you are all every special people to us and we love you lots!!!! Our wedding was just so so unbelievably amazing and will always be in our hearts! Its hard to thank you all enough but really thank you to all of you for being there!!!!

Well since I have arrived it has been interesting... My arm/shoulder thing was a challenge, trying to unpack with 1 arm is well, you can imagine. Its getting better which is of course great. We are now packed out, yay! Cooking... well I'm sure you all know I'm not the worlds greatest cook, my speciality is toasted cheese and ham! :) But I'm proud to say I have cooked up a storm and made steak pie, casserole, creamy smoked salmon pasta and so on.

We have settle in nicely into our little flat, its not a mansion but its "our first home" and its all ours, which I love! In the future we will save for our big house. In the mean time I love being a wife and I know Bertus loves being a husband!

When we first landed, we stayed in Auckland, its lovely there. Clean, safe and beautiful. We then drove down to Palmerston North, its not too small but its not Durban. I still cant believe how safe it is here, children (young as in 8 years old) walking home from school. There is no gates, walls, thick glass etc at the houses or banks. I'm still getting used to it. Everyone is so so friendly and helpful. I have gone to 2 of Bertus' games, the girls are welcoming. I have been to some job interviews and joined recruitment agencies. So far so good. I miss you all though!

I suppose that is it then! Have a very happy Easter! Enjoy this time with your family! Godbless! Stay in contact. And I will write again soon. Love you all! Mwah! Me
